Cabinet reshuffle brings new Employment Minister

Tue, 04/09/2012 - 18:06 -- nick

David Cameron today completed the first major reshuffle of his cabinet since the coalition government came to power.

It was reported that Ian Duncan Smith, the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, had been offered the Ministry of Justice post but turned it down, believing that the introduction of Universal Credit over the next year needed the expertise he had developed since his appointment in 2010. Duncan Smith retains overall control of employment issues at cabinet level.
