Supermarket giant Sainsbury's has just announced its Christmas recruitment drive - it needs 16,000 more people. This could be a great way into work, as companies often take on permanent staff from their seasonal intake.
If you are interested in an engineering apprenticeship Network Rail has 200 of them. Covering areas including track, signalling, electrification and plant, telecoms and overhead line, the company is holding open days on 30th November in Reading and 7th December in Didcot. Don't worry if you think you're too old for an apprenticeship - there is no upper age limit, although you will need to be over 17 in August 2014.
Q Hotels, the small chain with locations across the country, needs 120 staff in all areas of its business.
